Answering Catholic Defenders part 2

The Way Catholic Defenders Defend Their Church: Through Making Lies

HOW DO CATHOLIC Defenders defend their church? Through telling lies and making more and more lies. It’s such a strong words but it’s true. In this article we will expose the lies Catholic Defenders made and spread in order to defend their church. If your a Catholic, please, don’t immediately get mad of us, read and analyze first our proofs.

The word “lie” means:

(1)   deliberately untrue or contradicting the truth.
(2)   avoiding to tell or admit the truth is also lying.
(3)   Telling only half or only a part of the truth.
(4)   Contradictory staements are also lies.
(5) Misinforming is also lying.

Now, let us count the lies Catholic Defender 2000 made in his blog.

LIE #1

On the heading of Catholic Defender’s blog (“In Deffense of the Church”), its says:

“‘First, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all: because your faith is spoken of in the whole world (Kata Holos). -Romans 1:7-8” (“In Defence of the Catholic Church,” catholicdefendeer2000.blogspot.com)

Take note of what Catholic Defender did – he inserted the “Kata Holos” in Romans 1:7-8. He wants his readers to believe that the mentioned “whole world” in Romans 1:7-8 is “Kata Holos” in Greek. This is his way to make the people believe that the word “Catholic” can be found in the Greek text of the Bible. The word “Catholic” is coined by Ignatius, bishop of Antioch, in 110 AD from two Greek words: “Kata” and Holos.”

Although I already mentioned this in the first part of my “Answering Catholic Defenders,” I will discuss this again and again because Catholic Defender repeatedly mentioned this in his blog for numerous times.

HE LIED in saying that the “whole world” in Romans 1:7-8 is “Kata Holos” in the Greek Text. Below is the Greek text and the transliteration of Romans 1:7-8:

It’s not “Kata Holos” that is written in the Greek text of Romans 1:7-8, but “HOLO TO KOSMO.” Here, it is clear that Catholic Defender 2000 indeed lied. I raised this issue since last December 15, 2012, but he have not answered this up to this time. Instead, this is what he said:

“Sige, mag-Greek ka nga hehehe. Tingnan natin ang galing mo. Pero ang nakakapagtataka nga, KAHIT ISA SA MGA MINISTRO ng INC ni MANALO ay WALANG BIBLE SCHOLAR. So heto si Ges Mundo na nagsasabing mas magaling pa siya sa mga MINISTRO nila hahahaha...” (Catholic Defender, December 21, 2012 3:41 PM)

I think during this time he have not yet read my article titled “Answering Catholic Defenders part 1” exposing his lies especially his lies in saying that the “whole world” in Romans 1:7-8 is “Kata holos.” But learning that I exposed his lies, this is his reaction:

“Ang yabang nitong Ges Mundo eh may 3 aklat na raw siyang sinulat against the claims of the Catholic Church in history. At hangin pa niya eh matatapos na raw siya sa kanyang Ph.D. at maalam daw sya sa Greek and Latin hahaha.” (Catholic Defender, December 23, 2012 6:04 AM)

f you exposed the lies of this person, instead of answering the issues, he will make personal attacks, and he is saying that he is telling and spreading the truth?

LIE #2

At the right side of Catholic Defender’s blog (“In Defense of the Church”), it says:

“About the BIBLE
“As Catholics were responsible for writing the New Testament (under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit), the Catholic Church doesn't "interpret" the Bible. We explain it. Protestants can only "interpret", because they are not the author (guided by the Holy Spirit), and therefore, can only guess at the possible meaning of a chapter, passage or phrase, just as anyone can only guess at any author's intentions in any other book. As the author, the Catholic Church is the only proper authority to consult in matters pertaining to the Bible” (“In Defence of the Catholic Church,” catholicdefendeer2000.blogspot.com, emphasi mine)

He is indeed lying necause he contradicts his own statement. In his post dated 22 September 2012, this is what laso said:

True Catholic Teaching: The teaching authority of the Catholic Church is obtained both from Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the Magesterium. The Magesterium is the teaching authority of the Church comprised of the Church’s Bishops, led by the Pope to interpret the truths of the Faith. Catholics believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is a gift from God that reveals His great plan of salvation for us all...
“Christ instituted His Church as the authentic authority to interpret scripture, and to transmit, instruct, and explain the essential tenets of Christianity. It is in this way that the teaching authority of the Catholic Church utilizes both Sacred Scripture as well as Sacred Tradition to guide the faithful.” (In Defence of the Church, “Do Catholics Base Their Beliefs On Tradition And Not The Bible?” 22 September 2012, emphasis mine)

Making sontradictory statements is also lying.

LIE #3

Catholic Defender also said:

The Bible is the basis for our belief that Jesus is God…” (In Defense of the Church. “Let Those who Preach Another Christ be Accursed!” 28 Jnuary 2010)

However, a Catholic book admits that:

“Yet the Catholic does not derive his faith in Jesus from the Scriptures.” (Adam, Karl. Spirit of Catholicism. Translated by Justin McCann, O.S.B. Nihil Obstat: Arthur J. Scanlan, S.T.D. Censor Librorum. Imprimatur: Patrick Cardinal Hayes, Archbishop of New York. Doubleday & Company, Inc. New Yoek, 1964. p. 50.)

Catholic Defender vs Catholic authroties! Hmmm, interesting. However, it’s Catholic Defender who’s not telling the truth or who’s lying.

LIE #4

Let us again quote what Catholic Defender’s blog said about the Bible on the right side of his blog:

“About the BIBLE
As Catholics were responsible for writing the New Testament (under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit), the Catholic Church doesn't "interpret" the Bible. We explain it. Protestants can only "interpret", because they are not the author (guided by the Holy Spirit), and therefore, can only guess at the possible meaning of a chapter, passage or phrase, just as anyone can only guess at any author's intentions in any other book. As the author, the Catholic Church is the only proper authority to consult in matters pertaining to the Bible.” (“In Defence of the Catholic Church,” catholicdefendeer2000.blogspot.com, emphasis mine)

The post claim that “Catholics were responsible for wrting the New Testament…” However, according to his other post, the composition of the New Testament begun nearly two decades after Christ’s death and were slowly completed during the span of fifty years”

The composition of the New Testament in fact, was not begun until nearly two decades after Christ’s death, and the books were slowly completed during the span of about fifty years. During this time, Christianity was based solely on tradition. That is, the teachings that were passed down from Christ’s apostles, which were received from the lips of Jesus, or through divine revelation or inspiration.” (In Defence of the Church, “Do Catholics Base Their Beliefs On Tradition And Not The Bible?” 22 September 2012, emphasis mine)

Thus, according to Catholic Defender’s blog, the New Testament was written from 50 AD (“nearly two decades after Christ’s death”) to 100 AD (“completed during the span of about fifty years”). However, his blog also said that:

“The first recorded use of the word “catholic” (from the Greek word for “universal”) in reference to the Church is found in the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch, a bishop and disciple of St. John who was martyred by the Emperor Trajan in 107. Shortly before his martyrdom, he wrote several letters to various Church communities. These letters have been preserved by the Church ever since. One such letter was the Letter to the Smyrneans, where he wrote in chapter 8:” (In Defebce of the Catholic Church, When was the Church first called "Catholic?” 3 August 2012)

The New Testament was completed in 100 AD, and “The first recorded use of the word ‘catholic’ (from the Greek word for ‘universal’) in reference to the Church is found in the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch, a bishop and disciple of St. John who was martyred by the Emperor Trajan in 107 (sic).

Thus, the Catholic Church cannot be the “responsible for writing the New Testament. The New Testament was completed in 100 AD, while the name Catholic Church was coined (invented) by Ignatius, actually in 110 AD. The Bible clearly teaches if who were the true responsible for writing the New Testment – the apostles:

“So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” (II Thessalonians 2:15 NIV)

Catholic Defender is lying in saying that the “Catholics were responsible for writing the New Testament.”

LIE #5

Catholic Defender also said in his blog that:

“As the author, the Catholic Church is the only proper authority to consult in matters pertaining to the Bible.” (In Defense of the Catholic Church,” (catholicdefender-2000.blogspot.com)

His basis in saying that the Catholic Church is the proper authority to cinsult in matters pertaining to the Bible” is because the Catholic Church is (as he claim) the “author of the Bible.” Thus, if we can prove that the Catholic Church was not the author of the New Testament, thus the Catholic Church IS NOT the “proper authority to consult in matters pertaining to the Bible.”

However, every Christians know that the writers of the books of the Old Testament were the prophets of Israel or the “Jewish prophets”:

“So what difference does it make who's a Jew and who isn't, who has been trained in God's ways and who hasn't? 2 As it turns out, it makes a lot of difference — but not the difference so many have assumed. First, there's the matter of being put in charge of writing down and caring for God's revelation, these Holy Scriptures.” (Romans 3:1-2 The Message)

And the writers of the books of the New Testament were the apostles:

“So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” (II Thessalonians 2:15 NIV)

And all true Christians knew and believe that the REAL AUTHOR OF THE BIBLE IS THE LORD GOD:

“And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:15-17 NKJV)

Thus, Catholic Defender is guilty of lying when he said that “As the author, the Catholic Church is the only proper authority to consult in matters pertaining to the Bible.”

LIE #6

Catholic Defender also said:

“In their desire to appear ‘Biblical’ in their teachings, they couldn't help but relied on CATHOLIC (and other PROTESTANT) versions of the Bible! (History can prove the Bible is Catholic).” (In Defense of the Church, Millions attended the Iglesia Ni Cristo Grand Bible Exposition in the Philippines” Thursday, November 8, 2012)

HE AGAIN LIED. The Bible is not Catholic. According to Catholic Defender’s blog, then, again I quote:

“The first recorded use of the word “catholic” (from the Greek word for “universal”) in reference to the Church is found in the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch, a bishop and disciple of St. John who was martyred by the Emperor Trajan in 107. Shortly before his martyrdom, he wrote several letters to various Church communities. These letters have been preserved by the Church ever since. One such letter was the Letter to the Smyrneans, where he wrote in chapter 8:” (In Defense of the Catholic Church, “When was the Church first called "Catholic?” 3 August 2012)

The Old Testament books are already complete in 5th century BC and were witten by the prophets of Israel. The New Testament books were completed in 100 AD and were written by the apostles and companions of the apostles. While the name Catholic Church was coined (invented) by Ignatius only in 110 AD.

Thus, Catholic Defender is lying in saying that the Bible is Catholic.

LIE #7

Catholic Defender also said:

“And to EXPOSE their HYPOCRISY, the CHURCH which they accused of being of the devil and founded by Satan was RESPONSIBLE in giving the ENTIRE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY with the SACRED SCRIPTURES.” (In Defence of the Church, “Millions attended the Iglesia Ni Cristo Grand Bible Exposition in the Philippines” Thursday, November 8, 2012)

His blog said that the Catholic Church “was RESPONSIBLE on giving the ENTIRE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY with the SACRED SCRIPTURES.” He is lying again. The Jews were responsible for giving us the Old Testament:

“So what difference does it make who's a Jew and who isn't, who has been trained in God's ways and who hasn't? 2 As it turns out, it makes a lot of difference — but not the difference so many have assumed. First, there's the matter of being put in charge of writing down and caring for God's revelation, these Holy Scriptures.” (Romans 3:1-2 The Message)

The Apostles were responsible in giving us the New Testament:

“So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” (II Thessalonians 2:15 NIV)

The Catholic Church came only in the second century AD:

“The first recorded use of the word “catholic” (from the Greek word for “universal”) in reference to the Church is found in the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch, a bishop and disciple of St. John who was martyred by the Emperor Trajan in 107. Shortly before his martyrdom, he wrote several letters to various Church communities. These letters have been preserved by the Church ever since. One such letter was the Letter to the Smyrneans, where he wrote in chapter 8:” (In Defebce of the Catholic Church, “When was the Church first called "Catholic?” 3 August 2012)

For the Catholic Defenders, please don’t take credit which is not rightfully yours.

LIE #8

Catholic Defender said:

“Don't educate me on the meaning of words because it's the CATHOLIC CHURCH which name the BIBLE from Greek. The same way as the word CATHOLIC is from Greek KATA HOLOS "First, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all: because your faith is spoken of in the whole world (Kata Holos)(Romans 1:7-8)” (In Defenseof the Church, “Felix Y. Manalo: How He Ordained Himself” comment, 15 December 2012)

“LIAR, LIAR, pants on fire!!! The first time the word “ta biblia” was used to refer to the sacred books was in Daniel 9:2 of the Septuagint (the Greek Bible made in the third century BC, long before Ignatius invented the word Catholic in 110 AD).

It was also last December 15 when I raised this, but until now he haven’t answered this.

LIE #9

“INC enormous ignorance of History makes them unable to comprehend what transpired in the 4th and 5th Century when the Doctrine of the Trinity was finally defined by the same authority -- the Catholic Church which compiled the books of the Bible.” (In Defense of the Church, “PASUGO: Trinity: not ‘spiritually comparable’ with the Gaspoel.” 11 July 2011)

Catholic Defender said, “the Catholic Church which compiled the books of the Bible.” LIAR!!!

The books of the Old Testament was compiled by the Jews hundreds of years before the advent of the Catholic Church in the second century AD. During the time of the Lord Jesus and the apostles (in the first century AD) the books of the Old Testament were already compiled. The books of the New Testament were already compiled even during the lifetime of the apostles. This is what Apostle Peter said in II Peter 3:16:

“Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvationùas also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.” (II Peter 3:14-16 NKJV)

History attest that the books of the New Testament were already compiled at the end of the first centry AD. It was the first century Christians who compiled the books of the New Testament. In the second century AD, there were those who tried to cut down the 27 books of the New Testament like Marcion. However, the Christian community condemned this because they upheld the canon that they received from the first century Christians.

So long before the councils of the Catholic Church in fourth and fifth centuries, the books of the New Testament were already been compiled. These councils did not pick which books to belong to the canon, they only recognized what they received and what what was lready recognized by the entire "Christian" community since the first century.

LIE #10

Catholic Defender also said:

“CD2000: Just as the BIBLE which INC believed to be inerrant and authoritative is not in the Bible why they are fretting out with the word "TRINITY".  Hindi dahil sa wala na sa Biblia ay hindi na totoo!  The INC is not in the Bible but they believed.  Felix Manalo is not in the Bible but they believed.  Santa Cena is not in the Bible but they believed.” (In Defense of the Church, “PASUGO: Trinity: not ‘spiritually comparable’ with the Gaspoel.” 11 July 2011)

He said that “the Bible which INC believed to be inerrant and authoritative is not in the Bible.” Catholic Defender insists that the word "Bible" is not in the Bible. Acrually, I told him that the word Bible which is “ta biblia” in Greek can be read in the Greek text of the Bible, this was his reaction:

“Don't educate me on the meaning of words because it's the CATHOLIC CHURCH which name the BIBLE from Greek. The same way as the word CATHOLIC is from Greek KATA HOLOS "First, I give thanks to my God, through Jesus Christ, for you all: because your faith is spoken of in the whole world (Kata Holos)(Romans 1:7-8)” (Catholic Defender December 15, 2012 6:20 AM)

Itong si Catholic Defender pag-naiipit ay nagagalit. PIKON! And his way of countering my arguments is to make more lies.

When Catholic Defender said that the word Bible is not in the Bible, he is indeed lying. The word “Bible” is indeed in the Bible. The Bible called the sacred Books as “Bible” or “ta biblia” in Greek.

LIE #11

Again we quote what Catholic Defender said above:

“CD2000: Just as the BIBLE which INC believed to be inerrant and authoritative is not in the Bible why they are fretting out with the word "TRINITY".  Hindi dahil sa wala na sa Biblia ay hindi na totoo!  The INC is not in the Bible but they believed.  Felix Manalo is not in the Bible but they believed.  Santa Cena is not in the Bible but they believed.” (In Defense of the Church, “PASUGO: Trinity: not ‘spiritually comparable’ with the Gaspel.” 11 July 2011)

He said, “Sta. Cena is not in the Bible.” The term "Sta. Cena” or “Santa Cena” is Spanish of “Banal na Hapunan” or “Holy Supper” which is also called “Lord’s Supper.” He is lying when he said that this is not in the Bible. “Banal na hapunan” is in the Bible:

“Sa inyong pagtitipon, hindi Banal na Hapunan ang kinakain ninyo.” (I Corinto 11:20 MB)

If he says that “Sta. Cena” is not “Banal na Hapunan,” its another lie.

LIE #12

Catholic Defender’s blog also said:

“Without the Catholic Church, there is no Bible -Tanbooks.com” (In Defense of the Church, “The Bible: Our Debt to the Catholic Church.” 14 June 2012.)

Have you noticed the title of his article? “The Bible: Our Debt to the Catholic Church” (Ang Biblia: Utang natin sa Iglesia Katolika.”

NAKAKAPANGILABOT!!!

Ang Matandang Tipan ay utang daw natin sa Iglesia Katolika? (The Old Testament our debt to the Catholic Church?) The Bible said:

“So what difference does it make who's a Jew and who isn't, who has been trained in God's ways and who hasn't? 2 As it turns out, it makes a lot of difference — but not the difference so many have assumed. First, there's the matter of being put in charge of writing down and caring for God's revelation, these Holy Scriptures.” (Romans 3:1-2 The Message)

Ang mga isinulat ng mga apostol ay utang daw natin sa Iglesia Katolika? (Those writings of the apostles our debt to the Catholic Church?) The Apostles said:

“So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” (II Thessalonians 2:15 NIV)

Ang salita ng Diyos ay utang daw natin sa kanila? (The word of God our debt to them?) The Bible further said:

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV)

They are indeed the fulfilment of this verse:

“Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.  He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (II Thessalonians 2:3-4 NIV)
