How Ridiculous the Catholic Defenders

Catholic Defenders’ Standard for Being the True Church is Truly Ridiculous

Catholic Defenders cannot really prove from the Bible that the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church that’s why they inventing their own “standards” as a desperate move to prove that they are the true Church.

They tried to prove that from the Bible that they are the true Church, however, they failed. Remember how Catholic Defender 2000 quotes Romans 1:7-8 on the heading of his blog (In Defense of the Catholic Church) and inserted the Greek words “Kata Holos” in a parenthesis to show to his readers that the word “Catholic” is in the Bible? But, looking at the Greek text of the Romans 1:7-8 proves that the words “Kata Holos” is not in the verse. This is one of numerous ways how they are deceiving people to make them believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church taught by the Bible.

These people know that the true Church taught by the Bible is not them. It is true that the Bible mentions marks of the true Church, but these “marks” set by the Bible cannot be found in the Roman catholic Church.

For example, the most fundamental of the marks of the true Church taught by the Bible is that the true Church is called in the name of Christ, the name given by God:

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

“Then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Acts 4:12,10 NIV

How can they be the true Church taught by the Bible if the name “Roman Catholic Church” is not in the Bible? How can they be the true Church written in the Bible if their Church is not in the Bible or unbiblical and the teachings of their church are unbliblical? The nmost fundamental mark of the true Church cannot truly be found in the Roman catholic Church.

Thus, as a desperate move to prove that they are the true church taught by the Bible, they invented their own “standards.” Tthis is what the Bible says about this:

“I can assure you that they are deeply devoted to God; but their devotion is not based on true knowledge. They have not known the way in which God puts people right with himself, and instead, they have tried to set up their own way; and so they did not submit themselves to God's way of putting people right.” (Romans 10:2-3 TEV)

Because they not known the way in which God puts people right with Himself, the Bible said, “they have tried to set their own way; and so they did not submit themselves to God’s way…”

Because the Catholic Defenders failed to prove from the Bible that the Roman Catholic Church is the true church, they resort to inventing their own “standards” just to make the people believe that they are the true Church. However, these “standards” of being the true church THat CATHOLIC DEFENDERS invented are truly RIDICULOUS. See for yourself!

 

Mr. Catholic Defender 2000 said:

“At ngayon ay buong pwersa silang SINISIRAAN ang Iglesiang HINDI man lang nila NAPAG-ARALAN ng husto upang husgahan na lamang ng ganyan.

“Hindi kaya nila naitanong sa kanilang mga MINISTRO kung anong NAIAMBAG ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa pag-unlad ng bawat Pilipino o ng bawat tao sa buong mundo?

“Nagkaroon ba sila ng tulad ni Bl. JOHN PAUL II? O katulad ni Bl. MOTHER TERESA ng KALKUTA?

English Translation:

“And now in full force they ACCUSED the church they did NOT even fully EXAMINED to judge like that.

“Have they not asked their MINISTERS if what the Iglesia ni Cristo CONTRIBUTED for the uplifting of every Pilipino or every man in the whole world?

“Do they have the like of Bl. JOHN PAUL II? Or like Bl. MOTHER TERESA of CALCUTA?

“Do they have a FRANCIS ASSISI? Or  MAXIMILIAN KOLBE? Or the like of LORENZO RUIZ or PEDRO CALUNGSOD?

“Do they have SCIENTISTS? Or experts HISTORIANS?
“Are they those who made the CALENDAR which we the whole world OBSERVED today?

“Are Those Who made the Calendar the True Church”?

Catholic Defender asked, “Are they those who made the CALENDAR which we the whole world OBSERVED today?” In a previous post, Catholic Defender brag that:

“In case anti-Catholics such as the Iglesia ni Cristo of Manalo and other Protestant churches don't know what we are celebrating today JANUARY 1, 2013 Anno Domini.

“The Gregorian calendar, also called the Western calendar and the Christian calendar, is internationally the most widely accepted civil calendar. It was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII, after whom the calendar was named, by a decree signed on 24 February 1582; the decree, a papal bull, is known by its opening words, Inter gravissimas. The Gregorian calendar was adopted initially by the Catholic countries of Europe, with other countries adopting it over the following centuries... Is this the mark of a true Church? If you were the maker of the calendar that the whole world observed you are the true Church, and if not, you are not the true Church? Ridiculous, isn’t?

How ridiculous? Catholic Defender said that this calendar was introduced by Gregory XIII on February 24, 1582. If they are the true Church because they are the inventor of the calendar observed by the whole world, thus before 1582, they are not because this calendar was introduced only in that year.

The True Church is the one that Contributed most for the upliftment of of the people in the world and the development of civilization?

When Catholic Defender asked, “Have they not asked their MINISTERS if what the Iglesia ni Cristo CONTRIBUTED for the uplifting of every Pilipino or every man in the whole world?” he is implying that the Iglesia ni Cristo cannot be the true Church but the Roman Catholic Church because for him its the Catholic Church that contributed most for the upliftment of every man in the whole world.

Catholic Defender even brag the Catholic Church’s “tremendous contributions to western civilization”:

“When you consider all the facts, it is easy to see that the Catholic Church’s record is something to be admired. The miracles performed by Jesus give credence to His message. In like manner the Church’s tremendous contributions to Western Civilization give credence to its teachings.” (“Our Debt to the Catholic Church,” In Defense of the Catholic Church, 24 April 2010)

For this Catholic Defender, “the Catholic Church’s tremendous contributions to western civilization give credence to its teaching.” Ridiculous? Ridiculous indeed.

Following his argument, because the ancient Greee and the ancient Greeks like Aristotle, Socrates and Plato (they are pagans and not Christians) also have tremendous contributions to western civilization, thus this makes the ancient Greece the true Church.

About man’s accomplishment, this is what the Bible says:

“I have seen everything done in this world, and I tell you, it is all useless. It is like chasing the wind.” Ecclesiastes 1:14 TEV

The True Church is the one that have members the like of Pope John Paul and Mother Theresa?

Again, Catholic Defender brag if “Do they have the like of Bl. JOHN PAUL II? Or like Bl. MOTHER THERESA of CALCUTA?”

What caught my attention is that he is bragging that they have a John paul II and a Mother Theresa, while these two lived in the 20^th century, and the Catholic Church claim they are 2000 years old. How come that that they had a John paul II and a Mother Theresa only after 2000 years of their existence? They are bragging their John Paul II and Mother Theresa, but they also know that they also have “anti-popes,”crusades, inquisitions and numerous “dark spots” in their history.

Following his argument, the true Church is the one that has the like of Mother Theresa and John Paul II, this makes Hinduism the true Church because they have Gandhi. Is gandhi not in the same rank as Mother Theresa when in comes to contribution to the welfare of the humanity?

The True Church is the one that have scientists, expert historians, and scholars?

Catholic Defender also asked, “Do they have SCIENTISTS? Or experts HISTORIANS?... “Do they have BIBLE SCHOLARS? Or ENCYCLOPEDIA?...”

He even brag that “intellectuals becoming Catholics” (“Catholic Converts: British and American Intellectuals turn to Rome” In Defense of the Church, 25 January 2013).

How rediculous these people can get? Many great scientists and historians  are not Catholics. Many of then are atheists. Thus, following Catholic Defender’s argument, this make the “atheists” true Christians.

The Bible tells itherwise:

“Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things-and the things that are not-to nullify the things that are,” (I Corinthians 1:26-28 NIV)

Catholic Defender also brag that world leaders look up to Rome:

“Very interesting. World leaders look up to ROME for diplomatic ties and guidance.

“Yes! This is the true CHURCH OF CHRIST! People see its light!” (“Vietnamese Communist party leader vists Benedict XV” In Defense of the Church, 225 January 2013)

After bragging that world leaders look up to Rome, Catholic Defender concluded, “Yes! This is the true CHURCH OF CHRIST!” How foolish this man can get!

We all know that Vatican is not just a religious center, its also a STATE. In fact, the smallest state in the world. This is what Catholic Defender himself admitted:

“In addition to being The Universal Christian Church on Earth … the Catholic Church is also a sovereign nation-state, known as the Vatican. The Vatican constitutes the world’s oldest, continuously operating government (of any kind).” (“What’s so great about Catholic Church religion?” In Defense of the Church, 1 February 2013)

 
The pope is not only a religious leader but also a HEAD OF STATE. Thus, world leaders went to Rome to seek not guidance but POLITICAL AND DIPLOMATIC TIES.

Following his argument, this also makes the United States of America the true Church because almost everyday the world leaders seek audience with the President of the most powerful state today.

Their “Standards” are Trully Ridiculous

What makes their “standards of being a true Church” truly ridiculous? The first century Church of Christ have no scholars, scientists and experts historians, they did not made any calendar, they are not look up by world leaders, and they have no tremendous contributions to western civilization. Do these make the first century Church of Christ not a true Church?

Truly, the words of Apostle Paul in Romans 10:2-3 is indeed fufilled to Catholic Defenders, that:

“I can assure you that they are deeply devoted to God; but their devotion is not based on true knowledge. It is not the Catholic Church or the Catholic Defenders who must set the marks of the true Church but the Bible. Let us measure the Catholic Church and all the churches through the standards set by the Bible and not by man.
